air-roasted coffee?

air-roasting allows coffee beans to levitate and tumble through a fluidized chamber of hot air instead of turning and toasting on hot metal. this more evenly roasts the bean and produces a clean, sweet, aromatic coffee that leaves the bitter, burnt flavors behind.

Grab some whole beans for a taste of Las Brujas at home.

Las Brujas Grocery

Las Brujas…

…is a small farm where members of four generations of the Villa family lived.  David's grandfather, aunt and David himself were born in the original farm house.

Through the years many farm animals (horses, cows, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits), gardens, fruit trees were kept in different parts of the farm.

What was always there, under the shade of trees lining the pastures were established coffee bushes.  Caretakers of the place would harvest, hull and dry the coffee beans to sell as small cash crop, a perk to their employment.

David's father remembers helping them through the process until the sisal sacks of dried coffee were filled to be taken down to sell in the small town.
